This evening the board of directors (Canteen) of Post 413 met to discuss the plans for reopening now that our county is solidly in the 'green' phase as assigned by Governor Wolf.
The board reviewed guidance from the state as well as regulations and suggestions from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) and the arrangements of our facility. At this time, we have made the difficult decision to not reopen as of yet. Please understand that we have every hope and intention to reopen and we miss you all just as much as you miss being at the Post.
The restrictions that are currently in place are a challenge of any business currently open and would be for the Post as well. The physical size of our bar would severely limit the number of patrons we would be allowed to serve. The additional signage, alternate service materials and ongoing & extensive cleaning are also cost prohibitive for a small business as we are.
At the very minimum the licenses due for renewal and inspections needed before we are allowed to open to the public would prohibit us from opening before July 9th at the absolute soonest.
We have been and will continue to monitor the status of the county and guidelines from the appropriate agencies and will revisit a possible opening date after 07/22. This is not a possible opening date but rather the date we will review again.

Membership meetings are a great way to get out and socialize (safely) with the Post family we are all missing so much right now.
We strongly recommend all groups meeting adhere to social distancing within the hall. The use of facemasks/coverings is encouraged when unable to distance and when entering/exiting the facility and public areas.
We hope you all understand what a difficult decision this was. We will continue to update you all on our status and reopening plans. Please stay safe and enjoy the great weather we've been having.
